Title : Java Developer

We are one of the top software providers in our industry worldwide. With us you will be challenged to write world-class, mission critical software. You will program primarily in Java for both the Windows and AIX platforms and will be challenged to solve hard, real-world problems. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. A number of positions are currently available in both our international delivery team as well as in our global product development teams. Depending on which team you join, you may have the opportunity to travel internationally and to work directly with clients. We are looking for dynamic, talented software engineers who are ready for a challenge where teamwork, technical ability and problem-solving skills are essential.
Skills We require the following skills:
  • Excellent object-oriented analysis, design and development skills
  • Experience using an OO language such as Java or C++. Java expertise with J2SE experience is preferred
  • Sound understanding of relational databases and SQL, including experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A commitment to quality
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • The ability to communicate effectively - both verbal and written communication
    Meeting any of the following additional criteria would be a plus:
  • Experience using Python
  • DB2 LUW experience
  • AIX (ideally version 5) experience
  • EFT industry experience
Experience We will consider graduates as well as developers with work experience.
Requirements
  • A B.Sc, B.Com or B.Bus.Sci degree majoring in Computer Science, or
  • An Electrical Engineering degree with Computer Science at 3rd year level, or
  • A B.Tech degree with at least 2 years experience as full time developer in a professional development team.
In all cases, experience as a full time developer in a professional development team or an Honours degree in (or higher) in Computer Science, will be advantageous.
