James Van Dyke, President and Founder of Javelin Strategy & Research recently commented in his blog about his advice regarding a mobile banking strategy for community banks. Below is a brief quote from his blog:
“Any banker that doesn’t offer mobile banking should be worried about losing their customers with advanced platforms such as iPhone or Android where the majority of (all banks’) users are using mobile banking. We are actually seeing hard data to show consumers leaving banks that don’t offer m-banking, to take their money to the likes of Bank of America and USAA. Mobile banking is not only a major area that community bankers must get onto right now, but because it is also the potential foundation for the replacement of the physical credit and debit card bankers must worry about a loss of both deposit and card customers.”
